Turisme de Barcelona (DMO), in collaboration with Barcelona City Council, launched the Check Barcelona App in 2021, which provides real-time information on the level of occupancy of the city's different tourist attractions and recommends alternative visits to users based on geographical proximity or the type of resources of interest.
In addition, this destination guide also shows real-time information on the degree of availability of car parks and services of tourist interest and the degree of occupancy of the city's beaches.
The launch of this platform, compatible with any mobile or desktop device, fulfils the objective of providing up-to-date information on mobility, traffic, safety and other relevant elements that influence a visitor's decision-making process, helping them to better plan their trip in order to enjoy a higher quality experience.
This tool was developed by Eurecat. The Mobile World Capital Foundation and companies like Barcelona Tech City have collaborated in developing this application.
