International Museum Day, in collaboration with the different museums and infrastructures aimed at spreading awareness of cultural heritage in the territory of Bizkaia, launched multiple virtual tours, in which the different museum collections and their most emblematic pieces were exhibited in digital format, classified into the following themes: Nature, Sea, Art, History, Industry and Emotion.

From the visitor's perspective, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy exhibitions that, without the use of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, would not have been possible.

For example, one of the tours offered included the most emblematic pieces of each of the museums involved in this project, with access via a digital platform to the different virtual tours, videos and photographs available.

This audiovisual content was also accompanied by descriptive texts on each of the pieces, explaining their historical and cultural relevance.

The birth of this project has led to a notable increase in the level of awareness and tourism potential of Bizkaia's heritage.
