Big Data tool to find out about real-time traveller behaviour at Malaga’s beach destinations
Costa del Sol Business Intelligence is a smart tourism tool that uses Big Data technology to incorporate the necessary data to obtain a real-time vision of the behaviour of markets and its target audience.
Developed by the Malaga local government public company, this tool combines data taken from various sources:
- Active listening on social media, paying attention to mentions by country of origin, tourist products, level of satisfaction, main tourist attractions and preferred hotels.
- Tourist apartments, letting them get to know the target audience who makes use of this resource.
- Flight information, analysing air capacity, the price of flights, searched flights and reservations made.
- Expenditure in the destination, analysing credit and debit card data and noting the origin.
- Information about the presence and behaviour of visitors via analysis of data regarding mobile phone connections to antennas in the destination.
- Supply and demand in the golf segment, one of the destination's star attractions.
- Web analysis products from Google Analytics and HubSpot.
- Data from Cognitive Artificial Intelligence (used in tourism fair stands).
