Tailor-made Lanzarote, mobile tourism application to offer a personalised experience, which incorporates the Taro cognitive chatbot

An innovative app in the field of cognitive tourism, which enriches communication and interactions with tourists to offer them personalised experiences, adapted to their likes and/or preferences. It features the chatbot Taro, which is able to hold conversations and act as a virtual tourist assistant, offering advice about what to see, what to eat and how to get to any of the tourist centres on the island. The app aims to:
• Motivate tourists to directly interact with the virtual assistant by asking questions and requesting recommendations about restaurants, purchases, gastronomy, music or art events and more. It is able to interpret tourists' language and establish the appropriate response to each question.
• Incorporate functions to analyse the available information about the visitor and offer them personalised recommendations, adapted to their likes or interests, and understand the context of their questions based on their location.
The app also offers information by proximity through 140 beacon devices spread across the region. It automatically sends notifications to visitors and a complete guide on the Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote, including audio guides and multimedia content, information on events and shows and an easier online ticket buying process. The app also aspires to plan trips for tourists based on their stays, profiles and interests, creating personalised itineraries and recommendations.
