Thousand-year-old city, declared a World Heritage Site by the Unesco in 1998, it is focusing its energy in the 21st century on becoming an Affiliate Smart Destination.
With more than 2000 years of history, Alcalá invites you to travel back in time, from Complutum, the Roman city, to its medieval past, city of three cultures, city of the Renaissance and the Golden Age, birthplace of Cervantes and literary city where Quevedo, Lope de Vega and Calderón de la Barca studied.
Today, the past is alive and anyone who visits Alcalá can remember its splendour while also exploring a university city, alive, young, dynamic that advances and becomes digitised for the enjoyment of its visitors and residents.
At any time of the year, Alcalá boasts an events programme and quality gastronomy offerings, which you can learn about in Turismo de Alcalá’s digital channels.
