Embraced by the sea and marshes, Noja is a melting pot in which the tranquillity of its natural spaces, which make up 75% of the municipality’s total area, blend together.
Its varied gastronomy, presided over by the crab, which tirelessly roams its endless beaches. Its incredible sunrises and sunsets, and numerous opportunities for sport and leisure.
Its privileged location, on the eastern coast of Cantabria, 45 km from Santander and just over 70 km from Bilbao, also allows travellers to get close to emblematic places such as the Altamira Caves, the Cabárceno Nature Park, the Guggenheim Museum or the El Soplao Cave.
A destination, in short, with multiple attractions to disconnect from routine during the four seasons of the year.
Admission to the Smart Tourism Destinations Programme |
Noja joined the Smart Destinations project through the elaboration of the Pre-Diagnosis Report Assessment for the transformation of Noja into a Smart Tourism Destination, carried out in December 2016. It subsequently developed its DTI diagnosis in October 2020. In 2024 it has completed the renewal of its distinction. |
