The Gúdar-Javalambre region, located in the south of the province of Teruel, is a unique tourist destination that combines nature, science, history and traditions.
Known for its mountainous landscapes and rich biodiversity, it is a benchmark for sustainable and wellness tourism, sports in nature and astro-tourism.
It has two ski resorts, Valdelinares and Javalambre, numerous trails for walking or mountain biking, such as the 14 Starmountains routes, and perfectly marked routes for road cycling and 9 mountain passes, including the two emblematic Great Cycling Passes of the Tour of Spain, Pico del Buitre and Valdelinares.
It includes 24 small municipalities where you can discover their peculiarities, tradition, gastronomy, architectural and cultural heritage, palaeontology and nature. With great charm, some of them even form part of the prestigious Network of the Most Beautiful Villages of Spain and others of the Network of Magic Villages.
Certified as a Starlight Reserve and Tourist Destination, it has a sky of exceptional quality that has led to the installation of the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory, a unique scientific infrastructure and Galactica, a Centre for the Dissemination and Practice of Astronomy, which allows visitors to enjoy unique experiences related to astronomy. It has a network of Star Viewpoints.
In addition, it has an authentic traditional gastronomy where the most outstanding products are the Teruel Denomination of Origin ham and the black truffle, around which you can also visit the Black Truffle Interpretation Centre, Tuber Universum.
