Cuenca is a historic city in Castile la Mancha, declared a UNESCO World Heritage City in 1996. Cuenca combines cultural and natural heritage and offers tourists a haven of peace, where they can breathe, stroll and relax while enjoying superb gastronomy.
The city of Cuenca is an international benchmark in avant-garde art, with many museums, including the prestigious Museo de Abstracto Español (Spanish Abstract Art Museum).

Cuenca joined the Smart Tourism Destinations programme in 2019, and its Diagnosis Report and Action Plan were drawn up in late 2019 and early 2020 for its ultimate transformation into a Smart Destination.
