Gandia is a medium-sized city strategically located in the south of the province of Valencia.

Gandia has opted for its transformation as a Smart Tourist Destination. In this sense, it has begun the path towards the implementation of a Smart Tourism Destination model, through the development of the diagnosis process, the result of which has led to the obtaining, in November 2023, of a report and action plan based in the Smart Tourism Destinations methodology. |

- Sustainability is one of the pillars of the transformation of Gandia’s tourism model through the 3 Destination Tourism Sustainability Plans. The purpose of these plans is to form a more integrated and territorially cohesive tourist space, develop a more responsible and efficient management of tourist activity, based on innovation and the use of information technologies, and guarantee its long-term sustainability. A more complex space that will require the commitment of everyone, to minimize the impacts on the territory and also on people.
- Use of technology in projects to improve the management of tourist mobility (tracking and capacity control system, smart cameras for vehicle monitoring, etc.); installation of IoT sensorization for acoustic management and reduced mobility spaces; modernization and digitalization of tourist office services or IoT technology to know water consumption.
