Malgrat de Mar joined the Smart Touristm Destinations project through the elaboration of the Diagnosis Report and Action Plan for the transformation into an Intelligent Tourist Destination, carried out in July 2023. |
Outstanding initiatives

- Parks have been created that are open to the different neighbourhoods that surround them in order to enhance this social nexus function, while at the same time trying to make these spaces attractive to anyone who visits them.
- Both the destination and the two tourist offices are certified with the Biosphere label, which is awarded after verifying that sustainable practices are being implemented correctly.
- Various trade fairs and festivals are held with gastronomic offerings, musical performances and markets, which help to boost trade and local products.
- Malgrat de Mar has the recognition of ‘Viles florides’ with 4 flowers of honour and a special recognition to the Biodiversity for the parks and gardens of the municipality.
