The Association of Municipalities of Barbanza Arousa, in the province of A Coruña (Galicia), is made up of four municipalities: Ribeira, A Pobra do Caramiñal, Boiro and Rianxo.
The main objective of the Commonwealth is the tourist management of the destination for the sake of its sustainable development.
It should be noted that Barbanza Arousa is a consolidated and leading destination in nature, culture and food and wine.
It is the only destination that has two official Xacobean routes, one by land, Camino A Orixe, and another by sea, Ruta Xacobea Mar de Arousa Río Ulla.
Fishing, shellfish harvesting and canning along with tourism are its main economic activities.
Remarkable tourist resources are the natural park of the Corrubedo dunes, the Island of Sálvora, belonging to the “Atlantic Islands” Natural Park, the natural pools of the Pedras River or the Curota viewpoint, with its impressive views, the Cadarnoxo Waterfall, the estuary of the Ulla River…
