Embraced by the sea and marshland, Noja is a melting pot that includes the peace and tranquillity of its natural spaces, which make up 75% of the municipality’s total area. It has a rich and varied gastronomy, notably the velvet crab, which can be found scuttling across its vast beaches.
It offers incredible sunrises and sunsets, as well as numerous opportunities for sport and leisure.
Its privileged location, on the eastern coast of Cantabria, lying 45 kilometres from Santander and just over 70 kilometres from Bilbao, allows travellers to discover emblematic places such as the Altamira Caves, the Cabárceno Nature Reserve, the Guggenheim Museum or the El Soplao Cave.
In a nutshell, it is a destination offering multiple attractions to disconnect from the routine during all four seasons of the year.
Admission to the Smart Tourism Destinations Programme | Noja joined the Smart Tourism Destinations programme by drawing up the pre-diagnosis report needed to turn it into a Smart Destination, which it carried out in December of 2016. |
