Located south of Fuerteventura (Canary Islands), Pájara is the largest municipality on the island with 383.52Km2, with a population of 20,751 inhabitants, in 2022 it received more than 999,000 hosted tourists.
In Pájara there are spectacular beaches such as Sotavento, Cofete and Morro Jable, which together with the diversity contained in its extraordinary protected natural spaces and cozy and quiet fishing villages, make it a tourist enclave with high potential made a reality by the hand of the varied offer of hotels and tourist accommodations that it houses.
The natural conditions of the municipality of Pájara make it an ideal place to enjoy any outdoor activity, both day and night and every day of the year. A unique enclave for practicing nautical sports such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoil, diving or stand up paddle tennis, as well as endless activities whether hiking, cycling, golf or astronomical observation, from the Sicasumbre Astronomical Viewpoint.
Admission to the Smart Tourism Destinations Programme | Pájara has been part of the Smart Tourism Destinations programme since December 2020. In addition, it has carried out the diagnosis process in order to identify its alignment with the requirements established in the DTI model. In this sense, the municipality has a diagnostic report and action plan on which it will work in the coming years in order to continue advancing in the implementation of its intelligent management model. |
