Santa Susanna is a coastal municipality located in the autonomous region of Catalonia. It belongs to the Barcelona-Maresme stretch of the coastline and lies very close to the cities of Barcelona and Girona.
Although it is a small municipality, with just over 3,000 inhabitants, it has 21 hotels and a total of 9,500 beds, most of which correspond to 4-star hotels. If we also count campsites and apartments, the municipality has a total volume of 17,000 accommodation places.
Its main tourist activity centres around sun and beach, with a clear focus on family and sports tourism, which has earned it two accolades awarded by the Catalan Tourism Agency. It also has a nautical resort for water sports, an important cultural heritage with farmhouses and watchtowers scattered throughout the municipality, and the nearby Montnegre-Corredor Nature Reserve.

| Outstanding initiatives

- The municipality and the sector in general are firmly committed to quality, through various certifications such as the “Q” for Tourism Quality or the Biosphere certification.
- The destination does an excellent job in tackling sustainability from all angles: cultural, environmental, social and economic. The Covenant of Mayors has been signed and the Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) drawn up. Moreover, mechanisms have been set up to protect the cultural heritage and a campaign has been developed to inform and raise awareness of the importance of keeping beaches clean, known as “Take Care of Santa Susanna”.
- Santa Susanna has drawn up a set strategic documents in a bid to improve mobility in the municipality. It has a Mobility Plan from 2015 and has recently produced a Mobility Study 2014–2020, along with a report to plan out the various parking areas together with the local police.
- Major efforts have been made to incorporate technology and improve the digital tourist service and the destination has an intelligent signage system that allows for more effective communication.
