SEGITTUR has published a Manual that compiles the experiences of Smart Tourism Destinations carried out in Provincial Councils, Island Councils and Councils, as a result of the work carried out within the DTI Network.

Since its conception, the Smart Tourism Destination model was conceived as an initiative focused on Local Bodies due to their important role in the development of public policies that contribute to the growth of tourism activity in their territories.

Given the complexity of applying the DTI diagnosis methodology in provinces and islands, both due to the territorial extension and the diversity of destinations, it was decided to create a category as “member promoter of the DTI model” and a working group was set up within the DTI Network, led by the Barcelona Provincial Council.
